Due to drought conditions and our elderly parents in need of attention, Manna Fields Farm will not be open this year for any daytime activities. However, Fearshire Farms, our night time haunted attractions, will be open every Friday and Saturday night, September 30 -October 29 and Halloween night October 31st. We are really going to miss our day time friends and we thank you for your understanding, prayers and support.
Teachers, book your field trip now because fun and learning go together when your students visit the farm! Each year Manna Fields Farm offers different, educational farm tours. Spring tours begin the middle of April through mid May, Fall tours begin the first of October. Through our unique educational talks, exciting hands-on learning, and tractor loads of farm fun activities, your students will be exposed to “agriculture in the process” in a way they’ll never forget!
Spring lesson plans feature the Life Cycle of the Monarch Butterfly.Your students will tour the Butterfly Garden and learn about the Life Cycle of Monarch Butterflies. They can search for caterpillars and chrysalis and butterfly eggs while enjoying the beautiful flowers.
Your field trip in the Spring will include a special Hay Ride to feed the cows and see the new baby calves. Additionally the students will rotate through some of our favorite farm attractions like the Giant Slide, Hay Mountain, Farm Train, Jumping Pillow, Duck Races, and tour the Barnyard seeing the new babies chicks and bunnyville. So, you’re interested in booking an exciting field trip at Manna Fields Farm for your class. Great, here is a step by step guide to getting the most out of your experience.
1. Fill out the easy online form to book your field trip to the farm by clicking here. Our field trips last approximately 2 hours or longer if you elect to have a picnic lunch in our picnic area. Field trips begin at 9:00 AM, 9:30 AM, and 10:00 AM.
2. Let parents know about their child’s field trip to Manna Fields Farm and all the exciting things they will experience throughout the day! Children work up quite a thirst running around our farm, so let their parents know to add in an extra water bottle to their lunch. All parents and extra guests are welcomed with your class, but each parent will have to pay the discounted adult admission price for field trips.
3. Prepare your class by going over our farm rules. It is important to remember that while Manna Fields Farm is a fun place for kids it is still a working farm. Your day will go much smoother if you review our rules with your class before they arrive. We suggest going over these rules the day of and even sending home copies to all parents. Our Farm Hands will also go over these rules again when your class arrives. Get a copy of our rules by clicking here.
4. Have everything ready. Print out extra copies of driving directions and be sure you have the farm phone number just in case. Once you arrive, buses can park in the designated area. You will then need to check-in with one of our Farm Hands for your group. Once everyone is off the buses, you will be greeted and your entire group will go over the rules and be directed to all of the activity areas. If there is an emergency or you are lost, call 979-549-8847.
5. You will receive a schedule to help guide your class through the day and all the activities on the farm. If you are picnicking on the farm, picnic tables are on a first come first serve basis. Make sure you bring an old sheet or a table cloth for your class to picnic on during lunch. There are teacher tables for those not wanting to sit on the ground.
